This initial gesture drawing is my earliest departure from analogue materials. My concept was a quick sketch using the Wacom following techniques we learned in class.
This work was re-drawn in Photoshop, layering a contour drawing of the live model. My concept was to clean up the original using nearly continuous, flowing lines. As a future reference, only the new layer is preserved.
Experimental work to develop mass in a sculptural sense was effective using the pressure sensitive brush. The aspect of drawing live in quick succession helped me develop more valid perspective of shape and form.
This image represents my first successful masking, coloring, and layering. My intention to achieve better results involved work in Photoshop cloning out errant lines, ground shadows, and warping the subject stance.
Mixed media drawing. Concept: I took drawings I made in class and used them to practice effects of different filters from my computer download menus. This image was a contour drawing in graphite enhanced with the one/drive filter “Zeke”.
In this image I finally succeeded with masking and coloration of the subject over other background layers. I created a signet of my initials and began using PNG for transparency.
The Art Palace is my memory drawing in graphite enhanced using Photoshop for color. A compilation of images from every model session was masked and sized into the image. My concept attempted to unify the overall appearance using selective exposures and a shading layer.
