Apply and Register

It is free to apply to CUWiP.

Applications opened August 29, 2022 for CUWiP 2023. The application period closed October 31st, 2022 at 5 pm ET.

The application process was as follows:

  • Apply: Applications were submitted through the APS website. Students applied to CUWiP centrally, completing the form here by 5:00pm EST on Monday, October 31, 2022. Application to CUWiP is free.

  • Acceptance: Applicants received an email from APS in early November. If you were accepted to a CUWiP site, the email contained instructions on how to register for that site by the deadline given in the email. Attendants registered by the deadline contained in the email otherwise acceptance was voided and the CUWiP spot you were offered was offered to a wait-listed student.

  • Register: Registration requires a $45 fee, which helps offset the cost of the conferences. If your department is not covering the cost, and the $45 would cause financial hardship, you may request a fee waiver (see below) by following the procedure explained in your acceptance email. Please note, fee waiver requests must be made seven days in advance of the registration deadline.

  • Poster Session: You can register and apply to participate in CUWiP's poster session when completing your registration.

Registration Fee Waivers

If you are unable to pay the registration fee, you may request a fee waiver. Be sure to request assistance from your physics department first. If your department is unable to cover your registration fee, please email women@aps.org to request the Fee Waiver Request Form. The last day to request a fee waiver is Wednesday, December 6th at 2:00pm PT. You cannot register until the fee waiver has been approved. You will need to provide a brief statement of financial need and verify that department funds are unavailable. Once your statement is reviewed, you will receive additional instructions on how to register.
