Instructions for the first website
For this section, we will be focusing on science. Once you click on the first website you will scroll down a little to play Space Explorer to understand the order of the planets. The object of this game is to collect stars and lives along the way by avoiding tornados by pressing your mousepad to jump. Only 10 stars are needed to move to the next level. With this being said, anyone able to get 200-300 stars on any planet will get extra recess time and extra credit. People who are able to get in the 80-100 star range will also be able to get extra credit. You will have to bring proof to class to get extra credit. Once you have unlocked all the levels and learned the order of the planets you will scroll up to play the National Geographic Matching game and click the second option. Feel free to play any of the three options to familiarize yourself with rocks and minerals and their different shapes, colors, and textures. Both of these games will prepare you for our science unit.

After playing those games you will watch this short video on animal habitats because we will be having a project where you will do your own research on an animal of your choice throughout the year. This video will teach you the basics of some of the habitats of animals and a brief summary of plant habitats. This video introduces some of the animals that live on land, in water, or both. She also introduces animals that live on other animals or in the air. Use this video to brainstorm which animal you would like to research. First, you will need to decide if you would like to research an animal that lives on both water and land, water, land, in the air, or on other animals. I will explain further details in class. Make sure you have decided what animal you would like to research before we meet again.
