Instructions for the first website
For this section of the lesson, we will be focusing on sentence structure, capitalization, and punctuation. Click the first link then letters then click Fun Factory. This will help you with all three components of this lesson. To play this game you get to choose what you will be working towards building. Choose whichever option you want. You will need to fix any and all punctuation and capitalization errors in the sentences provided. You will have the option to add a period or question mark, change a lowercase letter to uppercase or change an uppercase letter to a lowercase letter. This strategy will be useful when we create our own sentences. The next game you can also click is called Later Gater it will help you with subject-verb agreement. In this game, you will be clicking the alligator with the correct verb tense that matches the subject provided. This strategy will also be useful when we are creating our own sentences in the classroom. The next game you can play on this website is Submarine Spelling Practice make sure to click on the third-grade option (number 5). This game will play sound because the word you need to spell is said. You will then need to drag the letters in the correct order to create the word. Continue this process until you receive the gold at the bottom of the ocean. The skills you learn from this game will also help you when you are writing.
Instructions for the second website
On the second website scroll down to Dino Bones: Capitalization it will help you with capitalization. In this game, you will need to continue clicking the word that needs to be capitalized in the sentence provided. If you click the correct word, you will receive a part of a fossil for a dinosaur. If you click the wrong word, you will receive an “X” on the screen and you will need to try again. This will also help when we are writing to ensure we all know what words to capitalize and when.
