Keywords are combined using the Boolean Operators AND, OR, and NOT:
AND, OR, and NOT can be combined to create a search string:
AND combines and connects two keywords to narrow a search to a specific aspect of a topic.
Example: Civil War AND OIL
OR broadens a search to find synonyms or alternate keywords for the same topic:
Example: Civil War OR Military Conflict
NOT limits a search by excluding a keyword or phrase that you do not want to appear in your search results.
Example: Oil NOT Natural Gas
