Lab 4: Forward and Inverse Kinematics
Note
In this lab (and all the following labs), we will team up! So you can work with your teammate on the lab assignments. While both of you should contribute and TA will ask questions during your demo to make sure you know what you did.
Overview
In this lab, we will switch gears and work on the manipulator. Two algorithms will be designed:
You will write a script to solve the Forward Kinematics problem. Given joint angles and the dimension of the manipulator, the task is to compute the position of the end effector. We will be using Product of Exponentials approach.
You will also try to solve the Inverse Kinematics problem. The task is to find a set of feasible joint angles given the position of the end effector. We will be using the analytical approach (by trigonometry).
We will provide a couple of test cases for you on autograder. The script you submitted should be able to pass all test cases.
