Dear Parents and Students,
My name is Lori Fodness, and I am excited to be your student's AIG reading teacher at Marvin Elementary this year! I am originally from Minnesota, "the Land of 10,000 Lakes," and the Minnesota Vikings! I have been teaching for 26 years, with most of my experience with the fourth and fifth-grade gifted population.
I graduated from The University of North Dakota with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. I received my Gifted Endorsement from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. My family and I have been living in Union County since 2002. I have two fabulous sons, Andrew and Evan. I enjoy painting, reading, hiking, traveling, and doing anything creative in my spare time!
I love my job being a teacher every day! I believe students learn in different ways, and I continually reflect on new ways to reach and teach my students. I strive for a respectful and caring classroom community where all students can be productive learners and aim for their highest potential!
Please feel free to communicate with me via email. I access my email during school hours at lori.fodness@ucps.k12.nc.us. You can also call the school and leave me a message, and I will return your call as quickly as possible. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or want to check on your child's progress throughout the school year. I am always more than happy to meet with you.
