MediaL is a video recording and streaming platform that is available to UCM faculty and students.

Using the MediaL Content Tool

MediaL is a browser-based application that is integrated into Blackboard. Unlike Panopto there is no additional application that you can download to your computer. There are two ways to get to the MediaL application. The first is through Blackboard:

  1. Login to Blackboard using your UCM network credentials

  2. From any Text Box Editor window, you can access the MediaL server.

  3. Locate the Add Content button in the toolbar and click on it. This is the tool that looks like a "+" within a circle.

  4. Under Additional Tools you will see the MediaL option - click on MediaL

  5. You will see three options: Upload, Webcam, and Search

    • Upload will allow you to upload a new media file. You can create a video on another device and upload it to the MediaL server

    • Webcam allows you to record from a webcam connected to your device

    • Search allows you to choose an existing media item that you have already uploaded to the MediaL server

  6. Select the appropriate option

  7. Complete each individual step (see illustrated descriptions of this task by visiting the Using the MediaL Content Tool document)
