To Begin using Blackboard:
Using your browser, go to http://courses.ucmo.edu
Click on the Blackboard icon.
Select UCM Student Sign-in. You will be redirected to UCM Single Sign-On.
Enter your UCM assigned network username and password.
New student usernames are: three initials + last four digits of your 700 number + zero - ex. sem12270
Your network default password is randomly generated by the Office of Technology. If you have not received your password, please contact the Technology Support at (660) 543-4357.
Click “Sign in”
Personalizing Your Blackboard Account:
Navigate to your Profile by clicking your Name on the left side of Blackboard. Most items in your profile can be edited, once completed be sure to press “Done” at the bottom.
Access Blackboard at ucmo.blackboard.com.
Login using your UCM network credentials. These are the credentials you use to log into the UCM network.
The courses for which you are assigned as an instructor are listed under the Courses tab on the left-hand side of your screen.
Each course is provided with the UCM template - you have the ability to add or remove any content in your specific course shell.
To return to your list of courses, click the My Learning tab near the top right of your screen.
To log out, click the power button located in the top right-hand corner of the window next to your name.
If you are enrolled in a course and it is not showing up as available to you:
Make sure you are enrolled in the course by checking MyCentral
Contact your instructor to make sure the course is available to users
Ask your instructor if you are listed under "users" in the course.
Course shells are made available to enrolled students by the faculty on record at the beginning of the semester. Each course is assigned a separate Blackboard shell. To see the Bb courses you are enrolled in follow these steps:
Login to ucmo.blackboard.com
Click on the Courses tab found on the right-hand menu
You will see the courses you are assigned either as a list or as thumbnail images depending on which viewing feature is selected.
Depending on which web browser you are using and your configured settings within that browser, some features in Blackboard may not function correctly. View the following link for more information on recommendations for specific browsers Browser Settings in Blackboard.
Course navigation menu items -
Left-hand navigation: All UCM Blackboard courses are created with default menu items, but your instructor can change the order or name of the navigation menu items. Below are the default course menu items:
Course Home - default landing page for your course
Course Information (Content Area)
Assignments (Content Area)
Discussion (Tool Link)
External Links (Content Area)
Tools (Tool Link)
Help (Web Link)
Faculty Information (Content Area)
JCK Library (Web Link)
Panopto Video (Web Link)
Every section where you or the learner can create content has a Text Box Editor toolbar. This is where you can type and format your content using common options (underline, bold, italics, etc.) or import various types of media (image/photo, video, PDF, etc.). If you cannot see all rows of the various buttons as depicted below, just click the three dot button in the upper right of the toolbar to expand the toolbar button set. Note: Your toolbar may be arranged slightly differently based on the width of your display. See a detailed description of each tool by clicking on the Text Box Editor Toolbar link above.
To determine accessibility accommodations contact the Office of Accessibility Services by visiting their website or calling 660-543-4421. If OAS determines that you are eligible for academic accommodations, your instructors will automatically receive a Letter of Accommodation that lists what accommodations you are eligible for in each class. Instructors must adhere to these accommodations and cannot ask you for any information regarding your disability. If an instructor has questions related to your disability, they are to contact OAS directly.
