What is the WorkKeys? An online assessment that measures "real-world" skills that apply to any occupation. There are three parts: Applied Math, Workplace Documents, and Graphic Literacy.
Why do I need the WorkKeys? Taking the WorkKeys Assessment can lead to a National Career Readiness Certification that can be used to show any employer that you have the skills needed to perform well on the job. Additionally, some job training programs require a minimum score as an admission requirement.
How long do I need to prepare for the WorkKeys? Study and review time really depends on the individual and their starting point. But, it is best to plan for at least one month to allow time to take a Placement Quiz, complete our program enrollment, study, and take the Official WorkKeys Assessment.

Kameron Jordan was one of nine, University City High School Graduates, to complete the ICP program in spring of 2018. As a result of successfully completing the WorkKeys Assessment he received a Silver Level- National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). Based on his scores he was able to entered the BUD, Building Union Diversity, 5-week construction trade program, after high school that landed him a union job. He also participate in the University City Adult Education and Literacy's Program 1st Transition to Work Academy prior to entering the BUD Program to improve his WorkKeys scores.

During the spring of 2018 9 students completed the Industrial Certification Program (ICP) An entry level career skills program required for all students enrolled in a MTA training program. Upon successful completion students obtain a MTA completion certification, WorkKeys Job Readiness certificate, DOL Pre-apprenticeship certification, an OSHA 10 certification and a National Safety Council Forklift license. Successful participants qualified for enrollment into one of three MTA/Ranken training programs.
WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system developed by ACT that measures the degree to which the student has developed important “real world” skills. These employer identified skills are applicable to any occupation and are critical to job success.
WorkKeys scores are also a significant predictor of success in postsecondary education/training programs. The student’s abilities are assessed in three are: Applied Mathematics, Workplace Documents and Graphic Literacy. Performance in these areas is measured against an established scale or standard of which successful completion can lead to earning one of the four National Career
Four levels of proficiency The ACT NCRC is awarded at four levels, based on the scores achieved on the component assessments.
Platinum: Scores of Level 6 or higher on all three exams
Gold: Scores of Level 5 or higher on all three exams
Silver: Scores of Level 4 or higher on all three exams
Bronze: Scores of Level 3 or higher on all three exams
