I'm really intrigued in the possibility of looking at certain influential music albums that engaged with social change in some way. I know that a lot of rock music (which is some of my favorite music) engaged a lot both in musical/auditory worldbuilding AND with the political/social world that they created in. There's also a lot of complexity and nuance within the world of rock music as well. Rock music has often uplifted oppressed voices, and sadly it has also been an oppressor of voices. I think overall there's a really intricate world created by rock music and it's artists that is exciting and worth exploring.
Movies have a way of completely transporting us into a completely different world that I am so fascinated by because of how many people it takes to do it as well as how many methods and art forms can be incorporated. I think movies really do have the power not only to move us into a world, but to strongly influence how we feel about our world. The popularity and societal significance of certain movies cannot be denied, and I'm extremely interested in how that causes real change in societal values. I am also intrigued at looking at movies that have changed my values in some way.
I think theatre draws us into worlds similarly to movies but with different techniques. There's also a really interesting world within a theatre while a production is happening. Everyone in the audience exists together, transfixed on this world that they are invited to join. There are definitely plays I have left feeling like I've just jumped between worlds and forming new ideas about what reality is.
