Nuwa 9 July 2022, statue, anonymous

Nu wa is one of the important gods in Chinese mythology and legends, and is regarded as the creator of human beings and the ancestor of life. Her legend can be traced back to ancient Chinese documents and traditional stories.

According to legend, Nu Wa was the daughter of the God of heaven and one of the ancestors of the Chinese nation. She is depicted as a beautiful, intelligent and powerful goddess. In ancient mythology, Nuwa played multiple roles, including creating the world, mending the sky, and creating humans.

One of the most famous legends is the story of a goddess who mended the sky. According to legend, in ancient times, cracks in the sky once occurred, resulting in floods and frequent earthquakes. In order to save mankind, Nuwa used colorful stones to mend the sky and save the world. She also kneaded the human image with loess and brought human life to the world. She is collected in the Ocean Park Museum in Shenzhen and commemorated in the form of a sculpture.
