Worldbuilding. It happens on a daily basis, whether you are socializing with your friends, constructing your social media page with pictures and stories, or building a Minecraft house on creative mode. It’s a constant drumming rhythm on the back of your head to inquire creatively and reform the world around us. Everyone has the capability to worldbuild; the overarching purpose of this course is to observe how philosophers and artists manifest worldbuilding through their unique mediums. We dissect their words to uncover underlying messages and utilize that knowledge, as pretentious as this may sound, to ultimately change the world ourselves. My website is my medium to freely express my interpretations where the little turning, idea-churning wheels in my brain are not confined to the limitations of texts. If I were to be a collector of materials and assembler of ideas, a website helps me expand to pictorially demonstrate paintings and movies pertaining to the books we will read and to graphic design how I want my readers to grasp my thought process in a structurally manner.
Hi! My name is Shannon Au and I'm a first-year student majoring in Public Health Sciences. I'm a pre-dental student so I look forward to attending dental school after completing my undergraduate studies. I spend my free time crocheting, experimenting with different types of film with my Nikon Lite Touch Zoom 140ED AF film camera, perusing romance novels, bingeing K-dramas, and collecting Sonny Angels & Sanrio merchandise.
