I am from Anaheim, California (Yes, I love Disneyland and all things DIsney!). I dormed my first year at UCI but will be commuting for the reminder of my UCI life because I live roughly 15 miles away. I am the middle child in my family of 5 and the second in my family to attend a 4 year university. I am more of a morning bird than a night owl, so you will probably see me up at 8 AM and asleep by 11 PM.

I swam for 10 years on a club team, and have found that I overall enjoy being around water. In high school I discovered a love for ASL after taking it as my foreign language. You might see me signing to music while I walk to class. In addition to being passionate about my majors, you could say that Ii'm equally as, if not more, passionate about Taylor Swift and instant photography. If there's some type of occasion that calls for cameras, you'll probably find me with at least 2.

Hello everyone! My name is Michelle Manku! I grew up all over Orange County, including Anaheim, Tustin, Laguna Hills, Irvine, and Santa Ana! I've lived in Irvine the past two years, about 20 minutes away from UCI. I currently live in Irvine with my sister, parents, and two pet cockatiels that I love to death! I love drawing, reading, sketching, watching Netflix and playing the piano. I love to watch Friends, The Office, Stranger Things, crime documentaries, anything by BBC Earth, and Bollywood movies! In high school, I was part of the tennis team and the VEX robotics team, which was a catalyst to my interest in STEM and engineering. I am a first generation college student, meaning the first in my family to go to school in the US, so navigating college myself was not easy! But, I live by the motto of optimism and positive attitudes. Tough times never last, tough people do, and I ensure I learn from every opportunity. Cynthia is doing an amazing thing providing advice to first year students, and everything that everyone says is extremely valuable and beneficial to you!
Heyy! Welcome to the site! I am from the 626 area, SoCal. I really like UCI so I'm glad y'all chose this school too. A little bit about myself: I like volunteering, dentistry, and hanging out with friends. Some orgs that I'm currently in are Delta Delta Sigma (DDS; a pre-dental frat), Red Cross Club (for volunteering), and several other mentorship programs like Summer Bridge, Decade Plus, and AMP. My mottos in life are "Just Do It" and "Be grateful." These two help me live in the moment and appreciate life even when there are hardships in the way.
