February is a celebration of hearts — with the observance of Philippine Heart Month, the commemoration is not limited to just one particular day, but the whole month. It's a month of love, kindness, and appreciation.
UBLRC celebrated this event with fun activities and meaningful moments like Valentines' Bingo, Blind Date with a Book, Photo Booths and Freedom Wall.
Christmas time is a season rich with traditions that bring together family, faith, and culture and that emphasize themes of hope, joy, generosity, and goodwill. While Christmas was first established as a Christian festival of the birth of Jesus, the introduction of customs such as decorating trees and exchanging gifts and of characters like Santa Claus gradually led to the holiday being embraced by both Christian and secular communities around the world.
On November 20, 2024, we conduct library quiz at University of Batangas library. We have eight (8) pairs participated in the said event. The representatives are from College of Arts and Sciences, College of Allied and Medical Sciences, College of Business, Accountancy and Hospitality Management, College of Criminal Justice Education, College of Education, College of Information and Communication Technology, College of Industrial Technology, College of Nursing and Midwifery students. The winners will be awarded on November 28, 2024.
Mental Awareness
October 10 is World Mental Health Day. Its objective is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.
The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.

International Literacy Day
Since 1967, the annual celebrations of International Literacy Day (ILD) have taken place on 8 September around the world to remind policy-makers, practitioners, and the public of the critical importance of literacy for creating more literate, just, peaceful, and sustainable society. The 2024 theme "Promoting multilingual education: Literacy for mutual understanding and peace".
Literacy is a fundamental human right for all. It opens the door to the enjoyment of other human rights, greater freedoms, and global citizenship. It is also the foundation for people to acquire broader knowledge, skills, values, attitudes, and behaviours to foster a culture of lasting peace based on respect for equality and non-discrimination, the rule of law, solidarity, justice, diversity, and tolerance and to build harmonious relations with oneself, other people and the planet.

2024 Manila International Book Fair
On September 12, the UB Learning Resource Center staffs, along with faculty members, participated the 2024 Manila International Book Fair (MIBF). The representatives from the different departments were engaged in book selection to ensure that the resources chosen are relevant and precise to the university's programs.
Library Orientation
(1st Sem 2024 - 2025)
The UBBC LRC conducted library orientation for all freshmen and transferees, college students, distance learners for Academic Year 2024 - 2025 and was was held on August 29 while the distance learners was on September 9 . The goal is to orient freshmen students and transferees and to familiarize new members and patrons with the resources, services, and facilities that UBLRC offers.
Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa
Tuwing Agosto ipinagdiriwang ang Buwang Wikang Pambansa. Nakikiisa ang Pambansang Aklatan ng Pilipinas sa mahalagang selebrasyon na ito.
Sa pangunguna ng @Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, ang tema ng pagdiriwang ngayong taon ay “Filipino: Wikang Mapagpalaya.” Binibigyang tingkad nito ang wikang Filipino bilang instrumentong nagpapalaya. Ang pagdiriwang ay nakatugon sa Proklamasyon Blg. 1041 s. 1997 na nagpapahayag ng taunang pagdiriwang tuwing Agosto 1-31 bilang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa, at naglalayon na maiangat ang kamalayan ng mga mamamayang Pilipino ukol sa wika at kasaysayan nito.
Nutrition Month
National Nutrition Month, or Buwan ng Nutrisyon, is observed in the Philippines every July in accordance with the Nutrition Act of the Philippines. The National Nutrition Council (NNC) organizes the event every year. It aims to raise awareness about the importance of good nutrition for Filipinos, especially children.
This event is a campaign to address various nutritional issues such as malnutrition, obesity, and micronutrient deficiencies. Ultimately, it seeks to improve public health, reduce nutrition-related diseases, and promote a healthier future for all, especially children.
National Heritage Month
The University of Batangas Learning Resource Center joins the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the whole nation as we Champion Heritage and celebrate the month of May as National Heritage Month in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 439.
“Championing Heritage: Capacity Building to Transform Communities,” the National Heritage Month (NHM) 2024 official theme honors the labors of our cultural workers and advocates who have been striving to connect with various indigenous people (IP) communities and help them boost their ingenuity and creativity to the mainstream media.
Women's Month
The UBLRC joined to celebrate the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration which aims to capitalize on the recurring theme “WE for gender equality and inclusive society,” introduced in 2023. This theme, launched to renew commitment to the advocacy, builds upon the accomplishments under the 2016-2022 theme, “WE Make CHANGE Work for Women.” The earlier theme stressed the importance of compassionate and harmonized networks towards gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE).
February is the Hearts Month!
University of Batangas students explore the enchantment as the library unveil library activities during the Valentine's Day. From the fantastic photobooth experience, to captivating book displays and inspiring messages from the Valentines wall, the library is bursting compassion.
As a new academic year unfolds, the University of Batangas library extends a warm welcome to its freshmen/transferees. A series of library orientation sessions were conducted last February 7, 2024 specifically tailored to address the needs of the freshmen and transferee students. The primary objective of these sessions was to introduce the students to the diverse range of facilities, resources, and services offered by the library. The results of these sessions were notably advantageous, as the students enthusiastically engaged in a variety of orientation activities.

The University of Batangas Learning Center conducted a Book Face Photo Contest and awarded the Top Library Borrower and Top Library User on December 14, 2022, 2:00pm. This activity will help encourage our students to be diligent and persistent in library clienteles.

2019 -2020 Activities
UBLRC Celebrates 85th National Book Week
The UBLRC led the institutions' celebration of the 85th National Book Week last November 29, 2019, through different activities in consonance with the theme "Inclusive. Innovative. Interconnected." The said event was formally opened by conducting various activities namely Finding My Perfect Match, Library Treasure Hunt, Guest How many Books in the Library, Spin a Wheel, and Film Showing.
With the theme “Unleashing Happiness,” the UB LRC conducted its first Mental Health forum held on September 30, 2019 in the Internet Room, UB LRC. The activity aimed to raise awareness about the mental health continuum, reduce stigma associated with mental illness, promote health seeking behavior and emotional well-being practices and prevent suicide. Mr. Ferdinand Colliflores, Guidance counselor of this institution shared his views and expertise on this pertinent topic.
