From May 2018 to September 2018, nine open-ended formal interviews (mostly recorded) were conducted in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Three of these interviews were conducted with "healers", and six interviews were conducted with people who had visited a healer or taken their children to a healer. In addition, two observations (not recorded) were conducted, one participant and one non-participant observation.
