International Conference on Paste, Thickened and Filtered Tailings Series

In 1999, the ACG initiated the series of international seminars on paste and thickened tailings (P&TT), and the inaugural seminar was hosted by the University of Alberta, where it returned for the 25th anniversary of the seminar in 2023. The International Conference on Paste, Thickened and Filtered Tailings seeks to explore the considerations needed to raise mining industry leaders’ awareness of how important tailings stewardship is to long-term industry sustainability. Further, this Conference represents a valuable opportunity for academics, designers, practitioners, consultants and suppliers to discuss best practices, improved methods and technology, all with an emphasis on safety, efficiency and environmental impact.

There is a range of papers from previous Paste conferences that are freely available to download from the ACG's Online Repository of Conference Proceedings.
