Established artist Liz Ingram is the former Distinguished University Professor in Printmaking and Drawing/Intermedia at the University of Alberta, where she taught for more than 40 years.

In Ingram’s work, “the human body and the elemental in nature are recurring sources” and often it “investigates issues relating to the fragility of life and the environment.”

A participant in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world, Ingram was elected into the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 2009 for her contributions to Canadian culture. She also received the University Cup, one of the University of Alberta’s highest academic honours. Large commissioned works by Ingram can be found at the Edmonton International Airport, and the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary, Alberta. She is a professor emerita in the Department of Art and Design at the University of Alberta. Ingram donated this work of art to the University of Alberta.
