Graphic designer Alejandro Magallanes is interested in typography, photographic images, collage, and caricatures. He is known for his distinctive take on contemporary Mexican visual culture and has played an active role in a number of poster activist groups.

A one time visiting artist at the University of Alberta, for Magallanes, “an image is worth more than a thousand words, since a thousand words combined together create approximately six million images (to say a number).”

Magallanes has participated in numerous exhibitions internationally and has published extensively. He studied at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and continues to live and work in Mexico City.
