The Information and Privacy Office provides some general information and advice for instructors that are planning on recording in class lectures (in person or online) or streaming live lectures from University classrooms to remote students this coming term.
There are three general use cases that this is meant to cover.
Instructors that are teaching online and recording their lectures.
Instructors that are lecturing in a classroom on site at the University to students that are also onsite and are recording the in-class lecture to be presented to the students at a later time or asynchronously to remote students
Instructors that are lecturing in a classroom on site at the University to students that are also on site and recording a live stream of the lecture to remote students synchronously.
This guidance revolves around informing the students/participants in a course as early as possible and with as much specificity as possible to the purpose of the recording or streaming and to the use and retention of the recording.
Please refer to the following document: Guidance on Recording of Lectures for Learning
