Our Prototype

A C C E S S I B I L I T Y

Heartfelt Hobbies' is accessible in one of three ways:

  • attending in-person sessions at senior care facilities

  • attending wherever the participant desires through tuning into the livestream

  • attending in the future and rewatching the livestream whenever it is convenient

A L T E R A T I O N S

Us creators of Heartfelt Hobbies took into consideration the different cognitive levels of seniors, different interests of seniors, and whether seniors are familiar with technology or not. With that being said, the activities provided will be based on the demands and ideas of the participants- this is where the monthly Google Forum comes into play. By giving our participants the option to decide what they want to see, we hope to make our prototype as inclusive and accessible as possible.

The subscription boxes will include all of the supplies needed to successfully participate in the week's activity session. Moreover, a step-by-step instruction card will also be provided as an extra form of guidance along with the livestream.

Heartfelt Hobbies plans to obtain funding, donations, and volunteer staff through multiple avenues:

  • Alberta Health Services

  • Local corporations as sponsors - an example of this would be having a local Safeway sponsor the week of cooking activities

  • Encourage individuals to volunteer as a part of our team including high school and university students - allows them to build a resume and obtain experience

  • Donation boxes that are located in health care facilities, grocery stores, coffee shops, etc.

  • Having a "make a donation" section on our website to have a more accessible way to donate

  • Holding annual fundraiser events such as a bake sale, craft sale, market, art show, walk-a-thon, etc.
