CSLebration
2024
Welcome!
Community Service-Learning is excited to be hosting another year of CSLebration! Congratulations for another great year of collaboration, community, and learning.
Browse the site to learn about just some of the amazing work accomplished by our CSL students, instructors and community partners throughout the 2023-2024 academic year, including our Humanities 101 and Non-Profit Board Internship programs.
CSLebration is a time for us to reflect and connect! Take a look at these videos to hear some advice from our CSL collaborators this year
We asked CSL students, community partners, and instructors: What advice would you give to the next cohort of CSL students?
In our Reflect and Connect video series, we chat with our CSL collaborators across campus:
Julia Villoso (CSL Student)
Yasaman Mashayekhi (CSL Student)
Nancy Bray (Instructor, WRS 210)
Jay Friesen (Instructor, CSL 100, CSL 200)
Erin O'Neil (Community partner, Campus Food Bank)
Denis Lacroix (Community partner, UofA Library)
Students
This year, CSL students worked on projects throughout Edmonton and beyond! Whether they were developing educational programs, collecting data, creating marketing plans, or designing social media content, CSL students used their skills and knowledge in unique ways to help community organizations. See a few highlights below!
Programs
Beyond our curricular courses, CSL worked hard this year on our programs including Humanities 101 and the Non-Profit Board Internship Program (in partnership with the Career Centre)
Humanities Program (HUM 101)
A thriving community for the last ten years, the HUM Program brings together a diverse group of adult learners who all share a passion for lifelong learning. The program, a collaborative effort between the UofA and the greater off-campus community, offers multiple courses each year that emphasize critical thinking in everyday life.
Non Profit Board Student Internship Program
NPBI is a great way for students to learn how boards operate, to develop leadership and decision-making skills, and to get engaged in their communities. The NPBI Program pairs each student with a non-profit board and mentor in the Edmonton community for the academic year.
Thanks for a great year!
Beyond CSLebration, we share the stories of our students, instructors and community partners year round.
