About

Cheer is a second-year Master's student at the Department of East Asian Studies, under the supervision of Professor Xiaoting Li. Her research interests include language learning and language use among heritage and multilingual families. She is currently working on her thesis on the use of directives among adult-child interactions in Chinese immigrant families. She speaks Cantonese and Mandarin fluently.
