I currently hold the Credentialed Evaluator (CE) designation from the Canadian Evaluation Society, am a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT), and an active contributor to the global research and evaluation communities through the following associations (this list is not exhaustive!): Mixed Methods International Research Association (MMIRA), Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE), American Evaluation Society (AEA), and American Educational Research Association (AERA).
I conduct research, teach, and supervise graduate students in the areas of mixed methods research, program evaluation, qualitative research, classroom assessment and health sciences education. I was awarded a Killam Professorship (2025) and was honoured with the 2023 Division D Significant Contributions to Research Methodology Award by the American Educational Research Association in the area of Multi and Mixed Methodology. I recently completed a two-year visiting Professorship with the MERIT group at McMaster University (2023-2025) and a McCalla Teaching Professorship, both focused on enhancing mixed methods research capacity (2020-2022).
I am a faculty member in the Measurement, Evaluation, and Data Science (MEDS) program area within the Faculty of Education. We offer a comprehensive training program where students participate in ongoing research, complete coursework, and are supervised by experts in the field.
As co-founder of the interdisciplinary Alberta Clinical and Community-based Evaluation Research Team (ACCERT), since 2009, Dr. Jacqueline Pei and I, together with more than 30 graduate students, have been building community–university research partnerships to advance innovative thinking and supports for program planning and impact assessments of service delivery for individuals with complex needs.
