Term Project Parts
This is the first part of the project. It was mainly for me focused on the history of Shell and their overall ideals and ways of business. It dealt with the ideas of what a business is and what it means to be one and how does one thrive compared to all the start ups that did not. This one did not really directly link to any of the specific 5 program outcomes but rather gave me a stepping stone to be able to start to investigate via a company I find interesting those 5 goals.
This is the second part of the project, it was looking at the Canvas model and how it specifically applied to the company of my choice, Shell. This started to look into the first goal and the fifth goal, those being "Explain how business functions interact to create value." and "Explain how business functions interact to create value." Both of these were a basic look into it but still a very important starting point for a greater more in depth understanding of these.
This is the third part of the project, it is all about taking the last exercise to the next level and gave me a chance to look deeper into how a company manages all their assists and liabilities. Things like subsidiaries and partnerships especially came up in this section and gave me a chance to really explore these facets of a company that many people do not think about a lot. Just like the last part of this project the focus was mainly on the first and fifth objective of this course. Overall this part really enlightened me on how a business truly works and how they think.
This is the debriefing paper for the first group project of the semester. Obviously since it was a group project it was focus on the 4th goal of this class which is "Collaborate respectfully with diverse team members to execute projects.". This was very well achieved because it was quite the group effort with us meeting every other day to discuss our plan for that quarter. We were able to learn a lot from each other and from the program itself. I personally was the marketing lead and head of many group discussions and this gave me a unique idea on how to market and make sure we were profitable.
