Goal: Prepare the final product
Allison:
Assembling the physical PCB
Samantha:
Once Claire is done prototyping, assembling the final head market model
Add the team/project logo onto the PCB design
Claire:
Prototype the marketting head display
Figure out how to hook up Vref to the rest of the PCB
Finishing MATLAB testing
Team accomplishment:
Samantha:
Allison: Started assembling the final PCB through the CNC phase
Claire: Assembled the marketting prototype and it is now ready for assembly
Designer: Claire in Fusion360 & Fusion360 Slicer
Assembly & Manufacturing: Claire / Samantha / Mr. Rojas in Auto CAD, Gloforge
Goal:
Claire will assemble a prototype (this is for in-class work; out-of-class work will be dedicated to MATLAB and testing still)
Samantha will manufacture the final head model design with the laser cutter and plywood
What was actually accomplished?
Claire laser-cut the sliced head model on corrugated cardboard. Using dowels to hold all the pieces in place, the final head model was assembled.
Problems Run Into:
In the prototyping phase, the extended cutout brain doesn't match the PCB outline, so the sliced model has a couple of problems.
Claire will fix this by adjusting the model with the final PCB model and reslicing it in the software.
Goal for next week
Samantha will create the final head display out of plywood.
Lead: Allison w/ Final PCB
Progress:
Started building the PCB w/ the CNC machine on the copper plate ordered from Digikey.
Most of the week was spent trying to remove the adhesive left by taping the material down.
Messed up the first CNC, Claire ordered new plates that are larger w/ 5x count.
Plan for next week:
Take the new plates and CNC the PCB, finishing this by Tuesday / Wednesday
Laying the silk screen on Thursday
Solder the components on Friday.
