Goal: Start marketing and create general plans to push the team towards finishing the project (MATLAB, any additional tests, build plans, etc.)
Allison:
Update the final Fusion design with dimensions tested on a dummy PCB
Samantha:
Create a small CNC-ed head model for marketing
Reshape the PCB design to be a brain
Claire:
Figure out how to hook up Vref to the rest of the PCB
Create a timeline for the rest of the school year
Finishing MATLAB testing
Team accomplishment:
Samantha: Began troubleshooting the shape of the final PCB-> finished over the weekend
Allison: Finished documentation for past weeks and started preparing the final PCB model for manufacturing
Claire: Downloaded the Fusion 360 Slicer and obtained the necessary head models for CNCing, caught up on documentation for the week, and created a general plan to keep the group on task
Lead: Claire in Fusion360 & Fusion360 Slicer
Co-Lead: Samantha w/ PCB Shaping
Goal:
Claire will download the models and slice them at home, and have a fully functioning head model by the end of the week (this is for in-class work; out-of-class work will be dedicated to MATLAB and testing still)
What was actually accomplished?
Executed extra steps to slice the head:
Tesselate in the mesh tab: bodies to become a mesh to achieve the refined geometric look
Reduce in mesh tab: Picked around 6 faces to achieve a less smooth or perfect head shape:
Converted the mesh back into a body
Split bodies in the design tab
Problems Run Into:
The suggested Fusion360 slicer software doesn't work as desired (incompatible with the current version & the system that maintained the software is gone)
Tried to use the manufacturing tab to slice the model, but it was unsuccessful
Doesn't split the bodies as desired for a stacked design
Goal for next week
Turn the hollow, empty part on the inside of the head into solid material for the laser cutter to cut away
Create a space to insert the PCB design, and find a specific design
Scaling the model
Doing a test CNC design
Lead: Allison w/ physical model
Testing: Samantha w/ testing sections in the circuit board
Goal:
Reshape the PCB board outline for marketting and visuals
What was actually accomplished?
Started researching how to change the 2D PCB outline shape into a rounded brain
Problems Run Into:
Had issues trying to edit the PCB in 2D PCB: The outline wouldn't close unless it was continuous
Needed to edit it in 3D PCB by editing the outline sketch.
Goal for next week
Have Allison reshape the pads and traces for manufacturing
Progress:
Experimented with trace sizes for the final PCB for manufacturing
Plan for next week:
Troubleshoot the overlapping issues and spacing
