We are proud seniors at Bartlett High School’s STEM Academy, a rigorous and forward-thinking program that has shaped us into passionate innovators, critical thinkers, and purposeful leaders. Since freshman year, we’ve challenged ourselves with a demanding engineering pathway that includes Intro to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, and Engineering Design & Development. Alongside these courses, we have strengthened our technical foundation through advanced classes such as AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Physics 1, and other STEM-focused electives that push us to think analytically and creatively.
Our current capstone project—a smart, remote-controlled, stress-reducing carrier built specifically for small dogs—represents everything we’ve learned. It reflects our belief that engineering isn’t just about building machines; it’s about solving real problems with empathy, purpose, and intention. Beyond the classroom, we stay deeply involved in both our school and the community around us. We serve on the STEM Academy Council, where we help plan events, represent student voices, and support the program's growth. We compete in VEX Robotics, applying mechanical design, coding, and teamwork under real pressure. We also participate in organizations like Key Club and the South Asian Student Association, where we learn leadership, event planning, and cultural appreciation. Our involvement extends even further: we celebrate our heritage through Polish Folk Dance, volunteer behind the scenes of theater productions, and commit ourselves to athletics through track and swimming. We also support learning organizations like Kumon and contribute to community service projects through Key Club, giving back to the spaces that have helped shape us.
Our journey has been defined by relentless curiosity, consistent leadership, and a shared vision to use STEM as a tool for positive change. Every project, every club, and every challenge has strengthened our belief that engineering can help build a kinder, smarter, more connected world. And as we complete our final year in the STEM Academy, we are more motivated than ever to create something meaningful—starting with our mission-driven pet mobility solution.
