We are proud seniors at Bartlett High School’s STEM Academy, a rigorous, forward-thinking program that has shaped us into passionate innovators and purposeful leaders. Since freshman year, we’ve immersed ourselves in a demanding curriculum that includes Intro to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, and Engineering Design & Development, complemented by advanced coursework such as AP Calculus AB and BC, and AP Physics 1. Our current project is a go-kart race car engineered to transport injured animals, embodying our commitment to compassionate, mission-driven design.
Beyond the classroom, we are deeply engaged in both our school and community. We serve on the STEM Academy Council, compete in VEX Robotics, and contribute to clubs like Key Club and the South Asian Student Association. We celebrate our heritage through Polish Folk Dance, volunteer in theater productions, and compete in track and swimming. We also actively support organizations such as Kuon and JKey Club, channeling our energy into service and collaboration.
Our journey is defined by relentless curiosity, leadership, and a shared vision to make a meaningful impact through STEM.
Meet our Team!
Hello, my name is Julia Zagulski. I am a Senior at Bartlett High School. I am in the STEM Academy here at BHS. I participate in many different activities. I love participating in sports. My hobbies are hurdling, running, biking, roller balding, and swimming. Polish Folk dancing is something that I have received many awards for. I have been on Polish Calendars, Polish Television and the Polish Radio before. On the side I like to do a lot of backstage theater productions. I help out with the sets, painting, building, lights, programming the sound effects and music for plays/musicals. I like to learn new things and do a lot of hands-on activities. I work at the animal shelter (Anderson Humane Wildlife). Where I care for injured and abandoned animals. That experience has given me a deep understanding of their needs and inspired me to create engineering solutions that prioritize their safety and comfort during transport.
Hello, my name is Krishwa Thakkar. I am a senior at Bartlett High School and a student in the Academy program. I am dedicated to academic excellence and I enjoy engaging in activities that allow me to grow as both a learner and a leader.
I participate in Key Club and the Pediatric Pathway. Through these programs, I volunteer at community events and learn about careers focused on supporting children’s health and well-being. These experiences have helped me strengthen my communication skills, responsibility, and commitment to service.
Outside of school, I am interested in technology and photography. I enjoy projects that allow me to work creatively and focus on problem-solving. I value hands-on learning and take opportunities to expand my knowledge whenever possible.
I plan to pursue a future in STEM where I can contribute to meaningful advancements that improve the lives of others. I am motivated to continue learning, growing, and preparing for the opportunities ahead.
My name is Hansika, and I attend Bartlett High School as a student. I'm in the STEM academy and always taking AP and Honors classes. Aside from school, I play a variety of sports that I have always found interesting since I was younger. A few sports include volleyball, football, and soccer. I used to play volleyball and soccer in my middle school and still play them with my older sister. I am always intrigued by learning and trying new things when it comes to food. Every year during summer, my family and I always travel as it is one of my favorite things to do, and while in different countries, I am always excited to try new foods and fun activities.
