Week: January 25th-30th
We started to continue our progress from last week. With Slok still modeling and Anuj still coding the AI. Anjail was disassembling some 3D components from the branches using the tools.
Anuj is coding the modules that connect to the the raspberry pi so that it can recieve and reply to information. Also is coding so that it can verbally respond using the speaker as a voice box. As a form of inspiration he investigated the structure of an ALEXA module that can be found in some homes.
Slok is designing the linkages alone with gears so that it can better move with speed and accuracy. he also designed a mini band saw with a spinner that can cut through metal. He tested it on a metal rob that would hold the gears inside the robot.
The mini band saw broken today with the metal disk cutter so we had to improvise so that it the machine would hold together when cutting so we had used Anjali's hair tye to allow for more grip and decided to lower the speed when using the machine so the disk wont burn out.
Anuj started implementing the emotions for when the robot would essentially react when conversing. He started using the basic emotions such as happy and sad and mad. These facial projections will be able to help people when conversing with the robot to tell its mood and be able to look for clues when actually converting in person.
We plan to continue the code and finalize the model next week. We are prepping for the materials for when we actually build in class using the mini band saw.
