Week: February 9th-13th
Slok 3D printed the updated model of the gear and now the spine assembly works. There are still some issues with warping due to heat affecting the plastic linkages when hot glue was used to seal the steel rods inside the linkages. We need to potentially resize some of the gears for tolerance and smoothness purposes.
Slok continued modeling the chest and arm linkage that will allow and 20KGcm servo to move an MG995 servo outward and away from the robot's center, allowing it to have a wider range of motion.
We modified the housing floor for the spine mechanism by removing some of it in order to fit another transformative component. This has weakened the housing as a whole and we will need to make more modifications to it in order to make it stronger but specifically more ridged as 3D printed PLA tends to bend bend as smaller thicknesses.
Anuj continues with the code and Slok still models different components and adds to the motes department for the connections of adding the servos onto the the raspberry pi.
Anuj starts to finalize the speech engine part of AURA
Next week we plan to improve our engineering notebook management and also still continue with the code. We plan to start integrating the servos code into the behavior aspect of the AI. We also plan to start learning about the python coding for Anjali.
