Build your scholarly visibility. Tell a stronger story about your work.
Many of you are doing important work, but you don’t always have the time, tools, or support to make that work visible to others. Whether you’re preparing materials for review or promotion or simply want your work to reach the audiences it deserves, this challenge offers concrete, manageable steps forward.
This 10-Day Research Impact Challenge is a short, guided program to help you strengthen your scholarly presence and better understand (and manage) how your work is shared, tracked, and valued.
How does it work? It's simple! Sign up by clicking here or the button to the right. Then starting on Monday, May 11, you’ll receive a daily email (M-F) with instructions for completing a short, practical activity (about 15–30 minutes each) to increase your research visibility and impact.
What will I do? Each activity focuses on one concrete action (e.g., strengthening your online profile, exploring a metric, sharing your work more strategically), so you can make steady progress without a big time commitment.
What happens at the end of the two weeks? You'll have an intentional approach to your research impact, and those who complete all 10 steps of the challenge and submit proof of each (screenshots or links in a single document) by 5pm on May 28 will be entered into a drawing for a prize. Details will follow in the challenge emails.
What if I don't want to do something every day for two weeks? Save the emails, and then you can move through the challenge at your own pace and focus on the activities most relevant to your goals.
Who can sign up? Faculty or graduate students (who we think of as future faculty!) are welcome!
Who's running this challenge? This challenge is brought to you through a partnership between the Faculty Commons and the TWU Libraries, with inspiration from the University of Michigan Library. Questions? Reach out to Nancy Chick (nchick@twu.edu) or Woody Evans (KEvans14@twu.edu).
