The English Passport: Our Gateway to Fluency

In our Communication Arts Class, the "English Passport" is more than just a booklet—it is a student’s personal roadmap to language mastery. Functioning as a specialized bilingual dictionary and a practice log, the passport ensures that every student has the essential tools to communicate effectively. Every week, students are introduced to 15 words called, "Words of the Week". To make these 15 words "stick," we integrate high-energy games into every lesson turning English Passport into an active habit from passive learning. By the end of the year, these weekly pages transform into a thick record of progress, proving to every student that they have the "visa" to travel and communicate in an English-speaking world.

Communication Functions: Introducing Friends, Family and Oneself

Learning Outcomes: Recognize the words: mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, friend, neighbor, classmate Use the sentence pattern: “He/She is my _______.” Her/ His name is ________.”

Communication Functions: Asking for the Prices

Learning Outcomes: Use the target language: "How much is the _____?", "It's ____ dollars.", "I’ll take it. Here you go." and "Thank you."

Communication Functions: Asking for and Giving Directions

Learning Outcomes: Ask for directions and give simple instructions using "Turn left," "Turn right," "Go straight." and “Stop”.
