A daily conversation sentence pattern is introduced during the weekly assembly as sentence of the week. Students are guided to answer the questions and new vocabulary are introduced to improve the communication skills of the students. Sample sentence patterns are: "I'm _______." "My favorite color is _______." and "I _______ during my free time."
In this class, students understand the diversity of the cultures through the discovery of foreign festivals, cultures and global issues. Aside from appreciating the value of multiculturalism, they also understand the value of Taiwan’s culture and its position in the world to develop a sense of national identity.
Students are engaged on reading, speaking and writing hands-on activities that involve active learning and skill development like storytelling, reader's theater and roleplays.
With a theme, "Colors and Cultures Around the World", students explored the beauty and culture of Canada, Philippines, Australia and Taiwan through engaging activities like Aurora Borealis Tie-Dye, Rainbow Milk Experiment and Thermochromic Paints.
