Canva Presentations (Grade 5 and 6)
In this presentation, we conducted an engaging activity where students identified various locations using Google Maps. This interactive exercise not only allowed them to explore geographic areas and landmarks in a practical and visually stimulating way but also helped them become more familiar with the functionalities and features of the Google Maps website. Additionally, the activity served as an effective platform for enhancing students' speaking skills, as they were encouraged to describe the locations they found, share directions, and discuss their observations with classmates. By integrating technology into the lesson, we created a dynamic learning environment that fostered both digital literacy and oral communication proficiency.Â
In this presentation, we used the story titled “My Day With Kevin” from the Wonder World book as the foundation for an engaging learning activity. We conducted a simple yet interactive question-and-answer game using pictures related to the story. This activity not only helped reinforce the students’ comprehension of the narrative but also provided a fun and visual way for them to recall key details and practice their language skills. By asking and answering questions based on the images, students were able to improve their speaking abilities, enhance their vocabulary, and build confidence in expressing themselves. The use of visuals made the experience more accessible and enjoyable, especially for young learners or those developing their English proficiency.Â
Using the concept of the Binocular Game, we designed an interactive activity where students carefully observed a series of pictures and letters to identify different types of transportation. This engaging game encouraged students to focus their attention, use visual clues, and connect images with vocabulary. Once they recognized the mode of transportation—such as a car, airplane, or train—they were also asked to describe the sound it typically makes. This multisensory approach not only made the learning experience fun and dynamic but also helped students strengthen their observation skills, expand their vocabulary, and practice sound recognition. The activity effectively combined visual learning with auditory reinforcement, making it especially beneficial for young or early language learners.Â
In this presentation, students will engage in an activity where they observe the movement of animated images to determine the destination of a character. As they watch the sequence, they are encouraged to pay close attention to visual cues that indicate where the character is headed—such as landmarks, transportation, or directional changes. After identifying the character's destination, students will be asked to write their answers using complete sentence format. This exercise not only enhances their observation and critical thinking skills but also reinforces proper sentence structure and writing conventions. By combining visual storytelling with written expression, the activity supports both comprehension and language development in a fun and meaningful way.
In this exciting classroom activity, the class will be divided into two teams — Team Kevin and Team Amy. Each team will take turns participating in a fun and interactive game designed to reinforce our phonics lesson for the day, which focuses on the consonant blends cr, gr, br, and pr.
A selected group of students from each team will be asked to come to the front and observe a presentation displayed on the Chromebook. They will need to look carefully at the images or clues shown, and based on what they see, they must say the word out loud, guess what the word is, and then write it down correctly using the appropriate beginning sound blend.
This engaging activity helps students improve their phonics skills by encouraging them to connect sounds with written words. It also promotes teamwork, listening, and spelling accuracy in a supportive and competitive environment.
Let the game begin — may the best team win!
This exciting game is designed to test not only the students' knowledge but also their teamwork and communication skills. It’s a perfect fit for reviewing phonics, vocabulary, and sentence patterns, especially for Grade 5 students.
Here’s how it works:
Students will be paired up and asked to stand back-to-back, so they cannot see each other's responses. The teacher will display a question on the screen, which could be related to phonics blends, vocabulary words, or sentence construction. Each student must write down their answer, but the goal is to match answers with their partner without talking. If both students write the same correct answer, their team earns a point.
To make it even more fun and dynamic, teams will determine how many points they earn by throwing a sticky ball at a target on the board after each correct match. The number they hit will be the number of points added to their score.
This game encourages students to think critically, recall what they’ve learned, and cooperate silently, all while having a great time. It's a fantastic way to energize the classroom and reinforce key language skills in an interactive and memorable way.
In this activity, students will watch a short video clip that serves as a prompt or review material. After viewing the clip, they will submit their answers using the Quizizz website, where they can respond in real-time using their devices.
This interactive game format is ideal for reviewing key concepts in a fun and engaging way. Whether it’s phonics, vocabulary, grammar, or comprehension, this activity encourages students to listen carefully, think critically, and respond quickly. It also adds a layer of excitement by incorporating technology and a bit of friendly competition.
Perfect for review sessions, this activity keeps students motivated while reinforcing what they’ve learned in a dynamic, digital format.
In this fun and energetic phonics activity called "Sing It to Win It!", students will listen carefully to a lively song that includes words featuring specific consonant blends. Their task is to identify the correct sound they hear — is it "tr" or "dr"?
As the music plays, students will need to listen attentively and decide which sound is being used in the highlighted words. This activity helps sharpen their listening skills, improve phonemic awareness, and reinforce their understanding of tricky sound blends in a fun and memorable way.
"Sing It to Win It!" is a great way to bring energy into your phonics lesson while helping students become more confident in recognizing and distinguishing between similar sounds.
Celebrations/Festivals
This presentation offers a comprehensive look at Easter Sunday, covering its historical background, important vocabulary words, and common celebrations and traditions associated with the holiday. In addition to the educational content, the presentation also features a fun and interactive activity called the "Easter Bunny Game."
The game instructions are included to help students engage with the material in a playful and meaningful way, reinforcing what they’ve learned while encouraging participation and teamwork. This blend of learning and fun makes the presentation both informative and enjoyable for students.
In this presentation, students will have the opportunity to watch informative videos that highlight some of the major environmental problems facing our Earth today. The presentation also includes a clear and engaging explanation of the 3 R’s: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, helping students understand practical ways they can contribute to protecting the planet.
After the discussion, you can guide students in a creative follow-up activity by asking them to design a digital poster about how to take care of the Earth. They will use the website Sketchpad (https://sketch.io/sketchpad/), an easy-to-use online platform where they can create posters using a variety of images, cartoons, and design tools. This activity encourages students to apply what they’ve learned, express their ideas visually, and promote environmental awareness in a fun and modern way.
This presentation serves as a fun and engaging extra activity for students to enjoy after their midterm examination. It features a collection of simple tongue twister phrases designed to help students practice pronunciation, improve their fluency, and have a little fun along the way.
To wrap up the activity, challenge the class with the classic "Betty Botter" tongue twister game. This final game adds an exciting twist as students try to say the tongue twister as quickly and accurately as possible. It’s a light-hearted, confidence-boosting exercise that students truly enjoy, offering a great balance of learning and laughter after a period of testing.
In this Easter-themed presentation, students will enjoy a series of four fun and interactive games that celebrate the holiday while encouraging teamwork, coordination, and creativity.
Egg Tower Challenge
In the first game, students will work in pairs or small groups to build an egg tower using four paper cups and four plastic eggs. Once their tower is built, they must carefully walk across the room and participate in an Easter word hunt, searching for hidden vocabulary words related to the holiday.
Hop Bunny, Hop!
In this game, students must balance an egg on a spoon and hop like a bunny toward the finish line without dropping the egg. It’s a test of balance, coordination, and lots of laughter!
Ready, Set, Egg!
For this game, the teacher will call out different body parts (e.g., “touch your head,” “touch your knees”). Students will quickly follow along. But when the teacher says “Easter!”, they must race to grab the egg in front of them. The fastest student wins the round!
Easter Egg Hunt
Finally, wrap up the activities with a classic Easter Egg Hunt. Students will search around the room or outdoor area for hidden eggs, some of which may contain small prizes, vocabulary challenges, or fun tasks.
These games make for a lively and educational Easter celebration, combining physical activity with learning in a way that students will love!
