Anyone under the age of 18 who wishes to be employed in the state of California must obtain a work permit. This permit verifies the minor's age for the employer and enables the employer to comply with State and Federal Labor Laws. A work permit will be granted to students as long as they meet the following requirements:
● Maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 with no D’s or F’s in any subject.
● Maintain a record of consistent school attendance.
● Maintain a good discipline record.
Work permit is issued 3 months at a time. Students must renew their work permit upon expired date by resubmitting another work permit application.
If a student fails to comply with any of the above requirements, their work permit may be rescinded and their employer will be notified.
If a student improves their grades, attendance, and/or maintains good discipline, the work permit may be reinstated.
A work permit application can be picked up in A-14 from Ms. Poojah or Click Here: Work Permit Form
The form must be completed by the employer and signed by the parent before returning it to Ms. Poojah in A-14.
