Within our STEM Academies the goal is to provide students with an innovative and challenging collaborative setting that is focused on inquiry, logical reasoning, problem solving and practical skills. The Technology and Engineering department has helped to develop STEM Standards of Practice that are foundations of the Academies and various areas of study.

These standards will connect skills and components of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to all content areas and actively engage students in project-based, collaborative learning environments that incorporate real-world scenarios and showcase problem solving skills, and allow the use of performance based assessments in any class.

In the Technology and Engineering subjects students will engage in problem solving practices, collaboration, investigation and use science and math content through project-based challenges and grading through performance based assessments that focus on real-world applications in several content areas. Our goal is to better prepare our students for the challenges of tomorrow with the skills today.
