Torrance Unified School District is continuing the second year of the AI Exploration Program to pilot SchoolAI as an educational tool used by a cohort of K-12 teachers and students during the 2025-2026 school year. SchoolAI’s Terms of Service allow for students under the age of 13 to utilize AI. TUSD has also signed a Data Privacy Agreement with SchoolAI. For security reasons, students can only access SchoolAI when teachers assign a chat to their Schoology course. This allows teachers to monitor student interactions with AI and access entire chats.

Students do not log in to SchoolAI directly; they can only access SchoolAI tools and teacher-assigned chatbots through their Schoology courses.

How to Assign SchoolAI spaces in Schoology Courses

Here is the workflow to assign students SchoolAI chatbots in Schoology:

1.) Go to SchoolAI.com

2.) Log in using Google (with your TUSD credentials)

3.) Select a tool to launch or customize a Space

4.) Launch the Space

5.) Follow the instructions in the video options below based on what you teach

Elementary & Single Courses

If you are an elementary teacher or a secondary teacher who has one Schoology course for a particular subject (without multiple sections), watch the video to the right for the steps to post a SchoolAI Space.

If you are a secondary teacher who teaches a subject for multiple class periods, you have two options for posting SchoolAI Spaces in Schoology. The workflow preference is yours.
