Encourage writing at home! Have your child write for a variety of purposes! Keep a journal or diary to express feelings. Persuade a parent- give an opinion and supporting reasons and examples. Make shopping lists. Have fun with the postal service- send cards, letters to family and friends. Write a book, movie, or restaurant recommendation.
