Xtra Math is a free program that helps students master addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts.
If your child prefers traditional pencil/paper sheets CLICK HERE for a variety of facts with all 4 operations and various levels of difficulty. We suggest setting a 5 minute timer per drill sheet. Once the timer goes off, have your child circle the last problem solved and continue to complete the page. The goal is to get faster and eventually beat the clock!
NOTE: Your child should NOT be using fingers for fact fluency. Instead he/she should apply mental math strategies taught.

These align with strategies taught in third grade.
It is important for children to see Math outside of the classroom. It emphasizes real world connections, applications, and relevance. Try some or all of the following as a family!
Go on a shape hunt- Go on a shape hunt around the house or in your community. What shapes can your child find? Look for circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, cubes and cylinders.
Bake or Cook a recipe (this incorproates measurement, fractions, and conversions)
Ask your child to help you with work around the home (ex: Determine the area of a room, number of boxes of string lights needed for the length of a wall...)
Use sidewalk chalk to make skip counting paths, equations, and more!
Road trip Math- find a sign or license plate that equals a certain number
Budgeting (groceries, gas, or a personal goal)
Counting money
Games- Play Monopoly, Yahtzee, or use a deck of cards and play multiplication or addition "top it"
