$5,000/year for the student body to use as they'd like for community-building social activity. Funds have been used for ski trips, backyard barbecues board games, a night at the symphony, etc.
English as a Second Language Tuition Benefits - TTIC will cover 75% of the cost of any course at UChicago's English Language Institute per quarter.
TTIC has travel funding available to reimburse expenses of attending conferences or events approved by an advisor.
Female-identifying students receive funding to cover the cost of attending two conferences dedicated to women in STEM: one in Pre-candidacy and one in Candidacy.
The Student Emergency Fund (SEF) can provide financial support for a degree-seeking student experiencing an emergency situation or an urgent/unexpected circumstance that may require assistance. Students apply to receive assistance awards.
U.S. CITIZENS AND PERMANENT RESIDENTS:
All students are responsible for paying taxes on their income as well as filing tax forms with the United States federal government. All new students will need to schedule an individual orientation with the Human Resources and International Office Director to complete necessary paperwork related to tax withholding.
