Behavior Policy
My philosophy is that behavior is communication, so we will work to improve behavior by teaching expectations, using natural consequences, and teaching Brain Science.
Discipline Plan
1st infraction- Reminder of Strategies
2nd infraction- Verbal Warning
3rd infraction- Reteach
4th infraction- Contact Home
5th infraction- (Office Referral)
Mini Economy
Money will be given throughout each day for various actions such as completely class jobs, showing respect, being cooperative, showing responsibility, integrity, and perseverance. On the contrary, fines may also be given out in regards to these qualities- being disrespectful, failing to complete class jobs, etc.
This money will be kept digitally on Stash101. This site eliminates theft and allows us to implement even more realistic features like jobs, bills, interest, and savings.
Vacation Days
At the end of each quarter, students will take a “vacation” from school. They will have the opportunity to use their class money to buy activities and snacks throughout the day. I will reach out to families for donations leading up to our donation day.
The kids will be faced with decisions about how much to spend or save for the remaining Vacation days. They will need to plan and budget based on their needs and wants.
Class DoJo
Class Dojo is a classroom management system online. This makes communication between families and me consistent and specific. This program gives instant feedback to families and allows them to see specific behaviors. Class Dojo can be accessed online or through the app. Each child has a specific code that allows them to change their character; likewise, each family has a code that allows them to access the site and their child in particular.
