Welcome to 4th grade! My name is Mrs. Taylor Butcher. This is my fourth year teaching at Mayflower Mill! Teaching at Mayflower Mill is very special to me because I went to Mayflower Mill as a student. I went on to be a Husky at Wea Ridge Middle and then a Maverick at McCutcheon High School. At McCutcheon, I participated in theatre and played soccer which led me to Hanover College as the goalkeeper. After graduation, my wife and I moved to New Jersey, and we were assistant teachers for a year before coming back home to Lafayette. In addition to teaching at the BEST elementary school, I also coach the goalkeepers on the McCutcheon girls’ soccer team. We have two dogs and two cats. And I LOVE coffee.
I am so grateful to work at such an amazing school. This is where my love for education began. I am so excited to pass on this passion to my students. My goal this year is to foster a love of learning and help students gain confidence as they grow. In an ever changing world, I want to help build curiosity and problem solving in each student to help them see and reach their full potential. As my students learn more about themselves, I will push them to see the importance of kindness and the beauty of differences by challenging them so see the strengths of others.
I truly cannot wait to meet all of my students this year! It is sure to be a great year!
