Daily in the Diner

Learning in the Diner is 100% designed around the Indiana State Standards with a heavy layer of creativity.  We will push those educational boundaries in the most exciting way possible. The goal is to work hard and trust each other. We are going on many educational adventures this year and will grow together every step of the way. To say I am creative is an understatement.  I live a breath school and creating.  I read educational books at leisure and never hesitate to adjust when research-based practices change.  I love learning and teaching.  Please take a look at our overall plans on the attached links. Nightly Homework

• The only homework coming home this year is to read in a chapter book of choice.  

• The time they spend is up to them. The true goal is to build a love of reading, and I don't want to put a specific time frame on that.

• Your child may want to do more work at home as an extension of what they learn at school, and you are welcome to do that with them. 

                        Our daily goal is that the most important work will be done at school. 

Black Bags and Drawers

The black bags are essentially your child's desk. They house all of their daily book supplies. In the evenings, they sit in their cubbies in the hallway, waiting for the kids to arrive the next school day.  Each student has a drawer in class for their other supplies, like pencils and art supplies.
