Discipline Policy

In order for your child to fully reach his/her potential, the environment in the classroom needs to be structured in such a way so that all students can achieve learning. This goal can be accomplished if your child fully understands what is expected of him/her in the classroom and agrees to abide by the following classroom rules:

Rule #1 Follow directions quickly and quietly.

Rule #2 Raise your hand for permission to speak.

Rule #3 Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.

Rule #4 Make smart choices.

Rule #5 Keep your dear teacher happy.

Students are regularly motivated to follow these expectations through positive words of encouragement and being an integral part of a Super Improvers Team: a method for working toward individual and team goals.

If your child is asked to practice any one of the above rules, a 1-2 minute time will be set aside in class and/or a note may be sent home requesting additional practice.

Students will also have the opportunity to earn classroom money and spend it at four Third Grade Rewards Days. At each of these events, students will have activities to choose from and food items to purchase throughout the day. More information will be sent home prior to each end of nine week Reward Day.
