What are we currently working on:
Y5-2:
We are learning and practicing songs that help us use our singing voice, create/stay with a steady beat, move to music, and how to play specific musical instruments. We are especially focusing on singing in both groups and solos.
3: We are learning how to recognize and use the following vocab words in music (Pentatonic, staccato, legato, verse, chorus, refrain). We are also working on recognizing instrument sounds and being able to recognize which instrument family that they are in.
4th and 5th: We are learning to read and play note names. We are reviewing how to read and write in different time signatures. Both grades are currently working on this at different levels of difficulty.

Hello! I am the new music teacher at Norton and Andrews Elementary! I am very excited to teach your students' music and join the Wildcat family! If you want to get to know a little about me you can see some facts below. Go Wildcats!
Class Highlight of the month:
After the students find their spots in the classroom and have completed the bell work we have a hello song that we all sing. This helps create routine and a welcoming environment to start our class off on the right foot!
Shout out to our wildcats of the week and month! If your student has received this honor they will have a certificate to bring home! Congratulations to those wildcats! Thank you for being fantastic musicians and students!
