Each player picks a detective card. (Rock, paper, scissors if two want the same card - NO ARGUING)
Each player gets 300 dollars from the bank.
Each player gets 3 sleuth cards. (When played discard a sleuth card and select another.)
Pull a wanted poster, read the description, and place money from the bank in the amount of the reward on the wanted poster.
Roll the dice to decide who goes first. The highest number rolled goes first.
1. Use the Electronic Crime Scanner found here
2. Start Crime Scanner: Hit the on button and look on the scanner to see what building the crime takes place in. The crime scanner will list a number and then CR to indicate that a crime has taken place.
3. Player Movement: Players move on each square. The thief only moves on the numbered squares.
4. Thief Movements: BEFORE you roll the dice, push the clue button to determine what action the thief does
Actions displayed and heard on the Crime Scanner
a. Cr = crime
b. Fl = Floor (walking)
c. -- = Did not move.
d. dr = opening a door.
e. Gl = Breaking a window
f. St = Running down the street
* If a thief commits a crime and somehow comes back to the same spot, it does not count as a crime but a regular space
* A thief cannot go back to the same spot in two moves. He cannot be on 35 and then run to 36 and then run back to 35. He can do it after two moves.
5. Moving: After hearing the clue, you may either roll the dice and move the appropriate number of spaces OR you may play a sleuth card. If you play a sleuth card, you do not roll the dice. Discard the card you have played and make sure to draw another. You will always have 3 sleuth cards.
5. SUBWAY: If you land on the subway during your turn, you may go to any other subway station. You do not have to have an exact role for this.
A thief will always take the subway if he is on a numbered square next to it.
6. Making an Arrest: When you are next to the numbered square, you may try to make an arrest by pressing the arrest button and typing the building number and the spot the thief is on. If you are wrong the thief will make a movement to escape, and the chase is back on
