Our Charter Organization – Sterling Volunteer Fire Company (SVFC)
What is a charter organization? A charter organization is a community-based group that agrees to use the scouting program to further its mission to serve young people. While the reasons why organizations charter scouting units vary, many often do so as a way to provide outreach to other families in the community.
About the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company (SVFC): "Our volunteers are your neighbors, friends, coworkers, fellow worshipers, and the “strangers” you chat with in the grocery line. We live or work alongside you in the community. We represent a multitude of occupations with a wide range of skills. Everyone can contribute in some way. We volunteer for different reasons, but we share one professional goal, to be there when you need us. Our operational volunteers are professionally trained, state-certified firefighters. Our associate volunteers perform a variety of functions, often leveraging their professional skills, to keep the Company running. As a volunteer fire company, SVFC provides public fire safety education during community and family events."
