Post date: Jan 27, 2018 8:50:55 PM
When: 6/23 to 6/29
Where: Tomahawk Scout Reservation, Birchwood, Wisconsin
Summary: On the first day we drove to another scout reservation to stay the night on the way to Tomahawk Scout Reservation. On the way there we stopped at the Caterpillar museum where we went in the bed of a mining truck and played on simulators. We also stopped at the Scouting Heritage Museum where they had a pinewood derby track and lots of old artifacts. For dinner we stopped at Pizza Ranch where they had pizza, chicken, soft serve ice cream, and biscuits. Then to top things off we went to Laser Quest to play 3 games free for all laser tag. On the second day we did OA call out where 7 scouts made it in. During the day there was also rifle shooting, tomahawk throwing, frisbee golf, and high adventure night. On day three we did our service project where we moved rocks out of the horse fields. The day also included low ropes course team building, archery, wipe out, and climbing the fire tower. On the fourth day the troop canoed across the lake to get ice cream, but it rained all day so afternoon activities were cancelled. On the fifth day we stayed at logging camp where you could make mini tomahawks, candles, and could work for beads (money). The troop slept in stingrays (3 people hammocks). For dinner we had chili and for breakfast pancakes and sausage which were the best meals besides the ones the troop made. On the final day in camp it was a free day where you could do field games and water polo. Additionally, the troop bought everyone ice cream for climbing to the top of the fire tower. The next day we drove straight home only stopping at Culvers and Pizza Ranch.
