Tree Lot Fundraiser

WELDON SPRING, MO - Nothing marks the beginning of the holiday season like the arrival of the first truckload of fresh, fragrant Christmas trees to the Boy Scout Troop 353 Christmas tree lot. While shoppers are getting great bargains on Black Friday, the Scouts of Troop 353 will be setting up their 23rd Annual Christmas Tree lot spending the day unloading trees, digging post holes, building temporary fencing, wiring up lighting, and fluffing the trees into a familiar conical shape so customers can view the full tree.

Purchasing a live tree is a holiday tradition for many people. There is just something about the scent of a live Christmas tree that makes it seem more like Christmas. Since 1997, customers have returned each year to the Troop 353 tree lot for both the high-quality product and to show support for the Scouting program. This year’s tree lot offers fresh-cut Scotch pines, Fraser firs, and Balsam firs from the Pacific Northwest & Canada in heights ranging from 6 feet to 12 feet as well as beautiful wreaths and pine roping.

The tree lot is Troop 353’s biggest fundraiser with proceeds going toward summer camp and scout trips. More than fundraising, the Scouts learn valuable life skills and gain experiences they might not get at such a young age. The Scouts (ages 11 to 18) volunteer to work shifts handling everything from greeting customers, carrying trees, trimming trunks, netting trees, and using their knot-tying skills to put trees on cars. The boys really enjoy the hands-on experience of running a seasonal small business.

Troop 353 Christmas tree lot is open the day after Thanksgiving and runs through mid December. We're generally open from 5-8 PM weekdays and 9 AM - 8 PM on weekends until the trees sell out. The tree lot is located off South Hwy 94 on Independence Road next to the Dairy Queen in Weldon Spring, MO. Fresh cutting and tree netting are included with every tree. Delivery can be arranged for a fee. Tree stands and tree care items are also available to purchase. Boy Scout Troop 353 has proudly served the St. Charles community for since 1937.

Thank You for your support.
